Occupational Therapy in Santa Barbara
The Center for Connection provides relationship-centered, brain-based occupational therapy for children, teens, and families in Santa Barbara, California. Our occupational therapy services are tailored to each person’s unique strengths, needs, relationships, and everyday environments. We focus on helping children and families build meaningful skills, connection, confidence, and participation in daily life.
Our approach is grounded in the whole-child perspective that has long been central to The Center for Connection’s work, including the work of our founder, Dr. Tina Payne Bryson, co-author of The Whole-Brain Child. Rather than focusing on a single skill or behavior, our Santa Barbara occupational therapists consider how sensory processing, nervous system regulation, development, communication, relationships, and environment interact to shape a child’s ability to participate and thrive.
We are committed to neurodiversity-affirming, relationship-centered care that helps children feel safe, understood, and engaged. Our occupational therapy services may support children and families with sensory processing, regulation, early intervention, feeding and swallowing, developmental skills, and everyday participation. We collaborate closely with caregivers, educators, and other members of a child’s support team so that strategies developed in therapy can extend beyond the therapy setting and become meaningful parts of everyday life.
At The Center for Connection, we believe occupational therapy is most effective when it begins with connection. Our team brings clinical expertise together with curiosity, collaboration, and respect for each child and family. We are proud to provide thoughtful, individualized occupational therapy to the Santa Barbara community and to create a space where children and families feel supported, understood, and empowered.
We’re so happy you’ve come to The Center for Connection for your occupational therapy needs.
